"The Myth of Capitalism" is a highly accessible presentation of the problems associated with increasing oligarchy in the United States of America. It is unapologetic in its assertions, but is careful to back them up with well curated, contextualized data. Financial Times called it one of the Best Economics Books of 2018. If half of what "The Myth Of Capitalism" asserts is true, we are in trouble indeed. For that reason, I would class it under "must-read".
"We are barreling towards an economy with few lords and millions of serfs. Tepper’s Myth of Capitalism fiercely articulates the raw, hard truth, behind the monopolistic behaviors of today’s corporations driving inequality, endangering the consumer, and eroding what American Capitalism used to mean."

Great recommendation! I took a class with Eric Beinhocker this past term and one of our assigned readings was this fascinating and related Scientific American article - perhaps Tepper and Hearn refer to similar sources. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/is-inequality-inevitable/
